Everybody is aware of the cold war between Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherjee which goes back a long way ever since Rani stepped into Ash’s role without informing her in Chalte Chalte .

Both Ash and Rani were said to be thick pals earlier and always took advice from each other. However it now seems like Ash’s hubby and Rani’s good friend Abhishek Bachchan is being dragged into the midst of the cold war. But the smitten husband is keen to please his new bride Ash.

Aishwarya and Abhishek distanced by work!

The inseparable couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan , has apparently been distanced by their work.

The happily married couple has been sticking together since their wedding, be it Ash’s token appearance at Cannes Film Festival or the shooting of Pink Panther 2 in Paris.

But the last few weeks have been very hectic on Ash. She had been shooting arduously for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s movie Jodha Akbar at Karjat at night and doing the dubbing during the day, leaving her with very little time for hubby Abhishek.

And now, the actress is off to Boston to shoot for the next schedule of ‘Pink Panther 2’. She will be away for nearly two months.

On the other hand, Abhi has been shooting an ad film in Mumbai. He, too, will leave for Namibia next month to shoot Goldie Behl’s movie Drona .

Ash in the US, and Abhi in Namibia. Work has distanced the two lovers.

During this time the two will remain in touch through phone. In between, Abhi may visit her on the sets of ‘Pink Panther 2’ in the US. But sources say he is diffident to do so because he doesn’t want to obstruct Ash in her work.

Rani upset with Aishwarya for making snooty remarks

Rani Mukherjee and Aishwarya used to be friends; however their friendship soured when Rani stepped into a film role that was earlier supposed to be done by Ash in the film Chalte Chalte. Ash was extremely miffed and ever since the two have maintained a distance. Rani has always been close to the Bachchan family especially Abhishek with whom she shares good on-screen chemistry. However this too didn’t go down well with Ash and she was not invited for the prestigious Ash-Abhi wedding.

Recently while Ash accompanied hubby Abhi on the Switzerland schedule of Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag, she passed some nasty remarks about Rani’s excessive make-up in some parts of the film. This has left Rani fuming and she is upset with Ash. A source claims “Rani is maintaining a dignified silence only because of Amitabhji and Abhishek. She is extremely fond of them and doesn’t want to hurt them.” However sources claim that very soon Rani will break her silence on the entire issue.

Saas-bahu relationship is generally filled with all sorts of ‘nok-ghok’ and ‘khit-pit’ but the case is different when it comes to newly wedded bahu Aishwarya Bachchan and saas Jaya Bachchan. They gelled together very well and throws tantrums and unpleasant remarks on Rani Mukherjee.

To everybody surprise, Aish dropped on the set of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag which stars Abhishek, Rani and Jaya. She joined her mom-in-law and continuously commenting on her get-up as well as her on-screen chemistry with Abhishek. But Rani paid least attention to their comments and smoothly continues with her work.

It’s known to all that Abhishek at some point of time had a special position for Rani in his heart. Unfortunately, their relationship ended with his marriage with Aishwarya. Now that Abhi is again with his ex-flame, it is indigestible to Aish. It seems Aish is still insecure about Abhi. Phew!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Hollywood film ‘Pink Panther 2’s shooting started in Paris on Monday. Hubby Abhishek gave constant company to her on the sets. Ash plays a detective in the film. She wore a white trench coat and metallic Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes. The couple will return to India later this week. Before that they will have a mini vacation in Paris. Ash’s spokesperson said, “Aishwarya is there for a brief period. She will film major sequences in September and October. The next time, she heads to Europe she will be there for at least two months.”
