Its Lara, not Priyanka in Karan Johar’s next

September 3rd, 2007 by admin

A lot of excitement was generated when Karan Johar announced his project, to be directed by his next assistant (after Nikhil Advani and Soham Shah), Tarun Mansukhani. The lead roles were to be essayed by the hot and happening pair of Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan. Later on they were joined by the ‘chote nawab’, Saif Ali Khan.

However, Saif soon opted out of the project and in walked Abhishek’s DHOOM co-star, John Abraham. Very recently, Aishwarya too left the project, citing personal reasons. The name Priyanka was touted by a section of the media, as Aishwarya’s replacement. But that was not the correct information. As per our sources, its Lara Dutta who has agreed to replace Aishwarya.

Here is hoping that this is the final cast of the Dharma Production project, so that Tarun can begin shooting for the film at the earliest.

We film industry folks are too insulated: Priyanka

August 20th, 2007 by admin

Actress Priyanka Chopra says she had a life-altering experience when she visited Tenga Valley in Arunachal Pradesh to record a special programme for a news channel.

After her trip to the valley, she realises people in the film industry are too insulated and their entire time is taken up with shooting and catching flights.

“I saw nature at its fiercest. I had earlier seen the tsunami… on the same date, July 27, two years earlier. Isn’t that bizarre? I realised we in the film industry are too insulated. We’re all taken up with shooting and catching flights. I feel if you want to keep it real for yourself, you can. As much as I love the luxurious life I like the thought of roughing it out once in a while,” Priyanka told IANS. Read the rest of this entry »
