Ever since the release of Heyy Babyy, there have been speculations abound about Sajid Khan’s next film. Some media reports indicated a sequel in the offering while a section announced Sajid to be coming up with an action thriller.
Contrary to all the stories making the rounds, reality is something else. The fact is that Sajid has already started working on the script of his next film which is going to be yet another family entertainer with comedy as its base. The film will have Sajid and Milap Zaveri writing the script with Sajid Nadiadwala as the producer.
“Deep inside my heart, it was always a thriller that I wanted to make next. But around a week back, Milap came to me with a script idea which I couldn’t resist translating on screen. It has a kind of subject to which you cannot say no. Hence, I have kept my action thriller on the backburner for the moment and rather concentrating on developing this script which is going to be light hearted yet again”, explains Sajid.
What makes him rope in another writer for his new film? “I have always believed that writing is a team work. Also, you cannot be a sole writer of a film as well as its director. Collaboration is a key word when it comes to getting the ideas flowing,” elaborates Sajid about his sense of film making.
Drawing parallels with Hollywood, he further informs, “I am not comparing myself to these great directors but even Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese or Alfred Hitchcock have directed films on the stories written by a different writer. Directing is a focused activity and I better be very good in that. Also, I have to leave the baggage of being a director who has delivered a superhit with his very first film.”
Isn’t that difficult? “No point basking in your glory. Also, I shouldn’t be acting smart or believing in myself to be a different person after a success. If that was the case, I wouldn’t have gone back to television and host shows. I am happy to be grounded and be the same old Sajid”, he says modestly.
By making yet another family oriented film, isn’t he restricting his genres? “That’s not something which I am thinking of at the moment. People want to watch a good film and this is what I promise to them. I am not even claiming that I am embarking on making a great film. I would be the most foolhardy person if I say so,” concludes Sajid.

Director Sajid Khan has refuted all rumours about him making a sequel to “Heyy Babyy”, and says his next venture will be an action-packed movie.
The film will require a gigantic budget, but Sajid isn’t worried because he has the support of Sajid Nadiadwala.
Director Sajid Khan has refuted all rumours about him making a sequel to “Heyy Babyy”, and says his next venture will be an action-packed movie.
“I’m not making a sequel to ‘Heyy Babyy’ . When I saw the announcement on television, I said okay this is what I am doing. In fact, while we were shooting for the film in Australia, the idea of a sequel had come up. I said the film will work big time. But I knew I wouldn’t want to do a sequel,” Sajid told IANS. Heyy Babyy
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Riteish Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Vidya Balan
Direction: Sajid Khan
Rating: **
Don’t nappy, be happy. Legs-lips-`n’-limbs of bimbos are the obsessions of three blokes, one of whom even croaks, “I carry more condoms than money in my pockets,” rolling his merry-go-round eyes out of their sockets. Hee hee?
Just about. But you also go chhee chee as Heyy Babyy, directed by Sajid Khan, indulges in execrable humour, striving to set off mirth ripples with dirty talk about underpants (not washed for a week, it seems), toilet humour and nipples. Enough to make you want to run out for a tipple.
So okay, Mr Khan may have shouted himself hoarse that he hasn’t ripped off Hollywood’s Three Men and a Baby (technically he may be correct, because he could have just ransacked the original French version). Hello, but till the intermission point it’s nothing but that – milking laughs out of emergency baby feeds, poop and what the dialogue innovatively calls “bummies.” Hang on to your groaning tummies. If producing his last film Jaan-e-Mann wasn’t exactly a cakewalk for Sajid Nadiadwala, neither was Heyy Babyy all fun and games. In fact, Sajid is so sapped he needs a break. “I haven’t had time for my family. My father isn’t well. I’ll start my film with Sabir Khan early 2008. Then I’m doing my next with Sajid Khan.”
Sajid feels he could’ve avoided the ultra-strenuous situation of making Heyy Babyy. “At the age of 40 I didn’t need all these stringent laws in Australia. In Mumbai one can shoot with a child with far less regulations. I’m aware of how taxing the shooting of a film with a child can be. I’m a father. And my little boy has worked in my film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and in Farah Khan’s film Main Hoon Na Just because Farah was family, we couldn’t say no to her. I remember how traumatized he was…The baby in Heyy Babyy shot for 80 days. We all knew the mother’s anguish—even Akshay Kumar is a father. But it was still a grueling experience for us. To my cast’s credit they handled the child well.” Read the rest of this entry »

If presence of Akshay, Ritiesh and Fardeen along with a cute kid wasn’t enough, a slew of entertaining tracks ensured that the film saw an increase in eyeballs as it neared it’s release. The item number featuring an ‘All girls Band’ took the promotion to a different level altogether while some genuinely funny promos on the small screen have already been popular amongst all age groups.
