Shilpa Shetty is quite perturbed that the makers of her 2005 superhit Kannada film ‘Auto Shankar’ are all set to release a dubbed Hindi version called ‘Shilpa the Big Don’ without her knowledge.

“She was shocked to see posters and advertisements of the film published in film trade magazines, as she wasn’t even aware that the film had been dubbed,” said her publicist Dale Bhagwagar. “What stunned her more was the title. Yes, she does play a ‘lady don’ in the film. In fact, during the film’s release two years ago, she had even termed her character, an ode to Gabbar Singh. But ‘Shilpa the Big Don’ seems to be just an amusing attempt to cash in on her ‘Big Brother’ win,” Bhagwagar added. Read the rest of this entry »

After her perfume S2 reached the number one slot on the UK fragrance charts, Shilpa Shetty has now decided to venture into production. She is planning to launch S2 Productions soon to make her DVD video on yoga.

To be shot for a week from August-end in the backwaters of Kerala, the two-hour DVD video will be directed by Manish Jha (of critically acclaimed feature films ‘Matrabhoomi’ and ‘Anwar’).

While Arghya Lahiri is writing the script, the camerawork will be handled by Englishman Jamie Sowlds. Currently, a team is in Kovalam doing a recce.

“The video will showcase the right methods of doing ashtanga yoga including breathing techniques. It will also concentrate on food management and provide guidance about how to maintain a slim figure without dieting and by eating the right food,” informed Shilpa’s publicist and spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar. Shilpa Shetty will launch her own production house ‘S2 Productions’ to make her DVD video on Yoga this month. To be shot from August-end for a week at the backwaters in Kerala, the Yoga DVD video, spanning two hours, will be directed by Manish Jha [of the critically acclaimed MATRUBHOOMI and ANWAR fame]. While Arghya Lahiri is writing the script for the video, the camerawork will be handled by Englishman Jamie Sowlds.

London, Aug 16 (PTI): The producers of the James Bond films, currently putting together the cast list for the 23rd movie in the series, are keen to sign up Shilpa Shetty so that the film is a success in Asia.

Shilpa, who became one of reality show’s most talked about stars earlier this year, is seen as a perfect leading lady for the current Bond, Daniel Craig, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The fact that she is big in Bollywood is about to seal the deal, the report said.

“Shilpa is having secret talks with the top brass who are working on the next movie. As far as they are concerned, she has it all — she is beautiful, fiesty and a great actress,” a movie source told the paper.

“But they also want someone who is a big star…which Shilpa is…She has a huge following in Bollywood as well as a number of fans in the Western world - especially in Britain - so she will be great for box office sales,” the source said.

Craig is set to begin work soon on the 22nd Bond movie but the producers have already begun planning for the next film.
